Next Retreat will be July 10-12 2020.
This Retreat will be the twentieth Meditation Retreat run by Robert.
Meditation Retreats occur biannually and form the summation of the terms teaching for The Meditation Groups in Crouch End, and Totteridge in North London.
The programme will unfold around meditation with sound, mindfulness, Koan study, and the open meditative technique Shikantaza.
Some teaching will revolve around a theme in practical philosophy. This will give direction to the retreat. All sessions are taught in an accessible way. Meditation workshops will be balanced by awareness in body work and movement.
The retreats are held in a beautiful setting at The Friars, a monastery in the heart of Kent. The monastery is an ancient house of the Order of Carmelites dating back to the 13th Century. Over the course of many retreats the monastery has been found to be an ideal setting and well respected place for meditation and reflection.
You will need to bring:
- Clothing suitable for yoga - yoga mat
- Wet weather walking clothing and shoes
Rooms are not shared, are double and spacious overlooking the ancient 13th Century quadrangle of the monastery. The Meditation Room is in a very quiet setting with ample facilities.
The Retreats are open to beginners but please note that attendance at a few workshops or one-to-ones is recommended.
